Netherhoard
Fill a 5x5 vault with cursed relics that feed their neighbours, and pay the Nether's rising tribute.
Every day: A new Daily Vault every day: the same seed for everyone, ending with a spoiler-free share grid and a daily streak. New puzzle: Midnight, your local time.

Netherhoard is a push-your-luck roguelike played on a 5x5 grid. Each round you buy and place relics in your vault, where neighbouring relics boost each other, and the gold they yield has to cover a tribute that keeps rising. The Daily Vault gives everyone the same seed each day.
About Netherhoard
Netherhoard is a small browser roguelike by TallboyGames, still listed as in development on itch.io. You keep a vault of 25 slots. Each round you are offered relics to buy, such as chalices, anchors, gems, torches, coins and creatures, and you place them in the grid. Relics that sit next to each other feed one another, so where a piece goes matters as much as what it is.
At the end of each round the vault pays out gold, and the Nether takes its tribute. The screen shows your gold, the round, the tribute due and what the vault is expected to yield, so you can see whether you will make it. Some relics are cursed and can shatter, taking a neighbour with them. You can reroll the offers, delve for more, or remove a relic for a small cost. When you cannot pay, the run ends, and your score is how long you lasted.
The Daily Vault is generated from the date, so every player draws the same relics in the same order that day. When you finish you can share a grid in the style of Wordle results: colours show how much each slot paid, never which relic was there, so nothing is spoiled for others. A Practice Vault gives you a fresh random vault whenever you want one.
The game is free in the browser with no ads, no tracking and no timers. The maker mentions a paid expansion planned for an Android version; the browser game is the full game.
How to play Netherhoard
- Open the itch.io page and choose Daily Vault.
- Buy one of the offered relics with your gold and place it in an empty slot of the 5x5 vault.
- Place relics next to ones they work with; adjacent relics feed each other.
- Check the vault's expected yield against the tribute due, then press Pay Tribute to end the round.
- Keep paying the rising tribute for as many rounds as you can, then share your vault grid.

Tips
- Read the How to Play screen once: knowing which relics feed which is most of the game.
- Keep cursed relics away from your best earners, since a shattering relic can take a neighbour with it.
- Rerolling and removing cost gold; spend it early when the tribute is still low.
Questions
Is the Daily Vault the same for everyone?
Yes. It uses the same seed for every player on a given date.
When does the Daily Vault change?
At midnight on your own device's clock.
Is Netherhoard free?
Yes. The full game is free in the browser on itch.io, with no ads.
Does sharing my result spoil the puzzle?
No. The share grid shows payout tiers as colours, not the relics you placed.
