Moviexto
Find the secret film in ten guesses by comparing year, cast, box office and more.
Every day: One numbered secret movie a day, the same for everyone: ten guesses, each compared with the answer on genres, year, box office, rating, IMDb score, director and cast. New puzzle: Midnight UTC.

Moviexto is a daily movie guessing game in the style of the character -dles. You name any film, and the game compares it with the secret one on eight attributes, colouring each green, yellow or grey with arrows for higher or lower. You have ten guesses and two hints, a new movie arrives at midnight UTC, and an archive holds earlier days.
About Moviexto
Moviexto asks you to find one secret film a day by comparison. Type any movie title and the game lines it up against the answer: genres, release year, box office, content rating, IMDb rating, director, and a lead and a supporting actor. Each cell turns green for a match, yellow when you are close, and grey when you are not, and the number columns carry an arrow telling you whether the answer is higher or lower.
The site's about page credits Nilkanthvarni Solutions Group, a small product studio that also links to its word games Contexto (contexto.fun), Nearesto and Glyph. Each daily movie is numbered.
A day gives you ten guesses. A good opening guess is a well known film from a middle year; from there you narrow the decade with the year arrow, the scale of the film with box office, and then home in through a shared genre, director or cast member. If you get stuck you can pick up to two hints from a menu, such as the genres, the release year, the studio, the director's other work or a shared cast member. You can give up at any point, and the result is saved on your device without an account. An Unlimited mode serves random films if one a day is not enough.
Moviexto works like Spotle Movies and Movie.wtf, which also compare guesses tile by tile, and differs from Framed or Kino, where you name a film from stills or clues. It suits players who know release years and box office numbers as well as plots.
How to play Moviexto
- Open moviexto.com and choose Daily.
- Type a film title and pick it from the suggestions to make a guess.
- Read the row of tiles: green is a match, yellow is close, grey is wrong, and arrows show whether the answer's year, box office or IMDb rating is higher or lower.
- Use what you learned to choose the next film, and take one of the two hints if you need it.
- Find the movie within ten guesses, then share your result or open the archive for earlier days.
Tips
- Start with a well known film from the middle of the range so the year and box office arrows tell you the most.
- A green actor tile means that actor is anywhere in the answer's cast, not only in the lead role.
- Pin down the decade with the year arrow before you spend guesses on genre.
- Save the hints for the last few guesses, when a director or studio can settle it.
