movie.wtf
Find the day's film by comparing year, runtime, genre, score and rating.
Every day: One movie a day, the same for every player: pick films from a list and use the colour clues on year, runtime, genre, score and age rating to find it. A TV series daily works the same way. New puzzle: Midnight (the game says it resets at midnight, without naming a time zone).
movie.wtf is a daily movie guessing game inspired by Wordle. Instead of typing, you pick a film from a list of random movies, and each wrong pick shows how it compares with the answer on year, runtime, genre, score and age rating, in green, yellow or grey with arrows. A zoomed frame helps, and a TV series mode runs the same way.
About movie.wtf
movie.wtf turns the attribute-guessing style of the -dle games into a pick-from-a-list puzzle. Every player gets the same movie each day.
You are shown a basket of random films and pick the one you think it is. If you miss, the game shows how your pick compares with the answer: release year, runtime, genre, audience score and age rating. Green is an exact match, yellow is close, grey is no match, and arrows say whether the answer is higher or lower. A zoomed frame from the film gives another clue. Each pick narrows the basket until you find it.
A second daily covers TV series, with seasons, episodes and creator among the clues. When you finish the daily you can keep going with random films.
It uses data from TMDB and suits players who want a quick film puzzle without having to recall titles from scratch.
How to play movie.wtf
- Open movie.wtf and choose Movies or TV Series.
- Pick one film from the list of random movies.
- If it is wrong, read the clues: green is exact, yellow is close, grey is no match, arrows point higher or lower.
- Use the zoomed frame and the clues to choose your next pick.
- Find the film, share your result, and come back after midnight.
Tips
- Your first pick is a free probe: choose a film from the middle of the year range.
- Runtime is a strong clue for separating epics from comedies.
- Age rating and genre together rule out most of the basket fast.
