Movie Reveal
Spend points to reveal clues about today's hidden movie and name it in five guesses.
Every day: One hidden movie a day, the same for every player, in a Normal and a harder Deep Cut mode, with an archive of past days. New puzzle: Midnight US Eastern time (the site dates games and streaks by New York time; the makers' X profile says new games go up.

Movie Reveal is a daily movie guessing game from the makers of Movie Grid. You start with 200 points and buy clues such as the cast, the director, the release year or the box office, then try to name the film. Each guess costs points too, and there is a harder Deep Cut puzzle alongside the normal one.
About Movie Reveal
Movie Reveal is a daily film guessing game from Sam Shulman, Alex Nunan and Tyler Whitmore, the team behind Movie Grid. Instead of a still or a poster, the hidden film is described by a board of facts that start face down, and you decide which ones are worth paying for.
You begin each game with 200 points. The board is split into four groups: Cast, with three actors; Crew, with the director, writers and cinematographer; Details, such as genres, Oscar nominations, release year and running time; and Ratings, covering worldwide box office and scores on Letterboxd, IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes. Each clue has a price, from 5 points for the duration or a rating up to 30 for the director and 25 for the top-billed actor. The game also shows how many words the title has.
You have five guesses, and each one costs 10 points, so the aim is to name the film with as many points left as you can. Clicking a revealed actor's name shows their headshot if you need a reminder.
There are two puzzles a day, a Normal one and a harder Deep Cut, and an archive lets you go back to earlier days. It suits film fans who like weighing a risky early guess against the cost of one more clue.
How to play Movie Reveal
- Open moviereveal.io and pick Normal or Deep Cut.
- Note the number of words in the title, then reveal a clue from the Cast, Crew, Details or Ratings groups; each costs points.
- Type a film in the search bar and select it to guess; each guess costs 10 points.
- Keep revealing clues and guessing until you name the film or use your five guesses.
- Your score is the points you have left out of the starting 200.
Tips
- Start with cheap clues such as release year, genres or running time before paying 30 points for the director.
- Combine the title word count with the year; together they often narrow the field to a few films.
- Guess once you have a strong candidate: a 10-point guess is cheaper than most cast and crew clues.
- Try the Normal puzzle first, then the Deep Cut, which picks less well-known films.
