Movie Snake
Name a film that fits two clues at once, nine times along a winding snake.
Every day: One new dated snake of nine paired movie clues a day, the same for every player, getting harder through the week from Monday, with an archive of past snakes. New puzzle: Midnight US Eastern time (the site dates its snakes by New York time; the makers' X profile says new games go up at 12AM.

Movie Snake is a daily movie trivia chain from the makers of Movie Grid. Each panel of the snake joins two clues, such as an actor and a title of three or more words, and you name a film that fits both. Twelve guesses cover nine panels, and rarer answers score more.
About Movie Snake
Movie Snake is a daily film trivia game by Sam Shulman and Alex Nunan, who also make Movie Grid and Movie Pyramid. The board is a snake of nine panels, and each panel sits between two clues, so every answer has to fit two conditions at once.
Clues can be people or rules. One day's snake might open with Jonah Hill or Blake Lively on one side and a title of three or more words on the other. You search for a film, pick it, and if it fits both clues its poster appears in the panel. Films may be used more than once, and if one panel has you stuck you can tap the next one and come back.
You have twelve guesses for all nine panels, which allows three mistakes. Each correct answer scores 150 minus its rarity percentage, so a film few other players thought of is worth more than the obvious one. Clicking a clue gives more detail, and clicking an actor's name shows their picture.
The snakes get harder as the week goes on and the difficulty starts over each Monday. The site also has an archive and a button that loads a random past snake.
How to play Movie Snake
- Open moviesnake.io and look at the first panel and the two clues on either side of it.
- Search for a film that meets both clues and select it.
- A correct film shows its poster and adds 150 minus its rarity percentage to your score.
- Move along the snake, tapping the next panel if you want to skip one for now.
- Fill all nine panels using no more than twelve guesses.
Tips
- Since films can be reused, one versatile film can cover several panels with the same actor.
- Hunt for less popular films that still fit: the score drops with every player who picked the same one.
- Click a clue for details before guessing, as some rules are stricter than they look.
- Expect Monday snakes to be the easiest and later days to ask more of you.
