A Listed board on Mind Loft: Canadian provinces and territories in rows with up and down arrows, ranked by area, above the Submit my ranking button with 5 submits left

Listed is a free daily ranking puzzle from Mind Loft. Each day it shuffles eight real things, such as provinces or films, and asks you to put them in order by one measurable quantity. Five submits, with green for a correct row and amber for one place off.

About Listed (Mind Loft)

Listed is a ranking puzzle on Mind Loft, a free site of daily browser games. Each day it hands every player the same eight items and one quantity to sort them by: area, a box office figure, a founding year, a depth. The list starts shuffled, and you move rows up and down until you think the order is right.

You get five submits. After each one, every row is graded. A green row is exactly right: it locks in place and shows its real figure. An amber row is one place away from where it belongs, and a grey row is further off. That middle colour is what turns it from a quiz into a deduction puzzle, because knowing a row is one slot out narrows its home to two places. A full ranking right on the first submit scores a perfect 10.

The topics rotate through the week between trivia, history and geography. Every answer key is a published number from a named source rather than an opinion or a poll, so there is only one correct order. On the day we looked, the board asked for Canadian provinces and territories ranked by area.

A new list arrives at midnight US Eastern Time, and the Sunday Edition adds a ninth item. Past lists stay in the archive. It suits players who like Factle or Top Billing style ranking games but want the grading to give more away after each try.

Tips

  • Place the items you are surest of at the ends first: the biggest and the smallest are usually easier to judge than the middle.
  • An amber row has only two possible homes, one above and one below; check which of the two is still free.
  • When a green row locks, its revealed figure gives you a yardstick for the rows around it.
  • There is a Hint button, but saving submits by reasoning from the colours usually gets a better score.
