Top 5 Trivia on the category Countries with the most forest area, with its How to play box open over the five empty slots and five lives

Top 5 gives you one category a day and asks you to name the five entries at the top of its ranking. You search a list of options for each guess; right answers drop onto the board in their place with the number behind them, and wrong ones cost one of your five lives.

About Top 5 Trivia

Top 5 is a small daily trivia game built around ranked lists. Each day has one category, such as countries with the most forest area, the largest moons in the solar system or the best known hip-hop artists, and a board of five empty slots numbered one to five.

You type into a search box and pick a guess from the list of options it offers, so spelling is never the problem; knowing what belongs is. A correct guess fills its slot on the board and shows the figure that earned it its rank, for example the area or the diameter. A guess that is not in the top five costs one of your five lives. Find all five before the lives run out to win the day.

For players who want more, the game suggests a harder target: name the five in the right order. The site keeps the last seven days of puzzles, so a missed day can still be played, and after a game you can like or dislike the category. The puzzles have been running daily since February 2024.

A round takes a few minutes. It suits fans of list games like Factle or a pub quiz's 'name the top five' round, and the categories range widely enough that no one subject decides the day.

How to play Top 5 Trivia

  1. Read the day's category at the top of the board.
  2. Type a guess into the search box and choose it from the list of options.
  3. A right answer fills its numbered slot with the figure behind it; a wrong one costs a life.
  4. Keep guessing until all five slots are filled or your five lives are gone.
  5. For an extra challenge, try to name the five in their ranked order.

Tips

  • Begin with the obvious leader of the list: it is usually right and shows the scale of the numbers.
  • Think about which entries are close to fifth place before spending lives on borderline guesses.
  • Missed a day? The last week's puzzles stay playable from the archive.
