Lanterns Daily
Light one lantern in every row, column and colour region, plus four more small dailies.
Every day: Five daily logic puzzles, each with one fresh board a day that is the same for everyone; Lanterns, the queens-style main puzzle, has a global daily leaderboard of solve times. New puzzle: Once a day (the listing does not state the time).

Lanterns Daily is a quiet iPhone app with five daily logic puzzles. The main one, Lanterns, follows the Queens rules: one lantern per row, column and coloured region, none touching. Every game has one board a day, the same for everyone, and Lanterns ranks solve times on a global daily leaderboard.
About Lanterns Daily
Lanterns is a Queens-family puzzle with a warm look. The board starts dark, split into coloured regions. You place one lantern in every row, every column and every region, and no two lanterns may touch, not even diagonally. Tapping a cell once marks an ember (no lantern here), twice places a lantern, and a third tap clears it. As you solve, regions glow when they are satisfied, and the whole board lights up at the end.
The app holds four more 6x6 dailies, each with its own board, streak and stats: Mini Sudoku, in three difficulties; Skyscrapers, where the numbers on the edge say how many buildings can be seen; Fireflies, which lights half the swarm with no three alike in a row, like Binairo; and Fuse, one unbroken line through every square passing the charges in order, like Zip. You move between them from a games hub.
Every daily board in every game is checked to be solvable by logic alone with a unique solution, and hints reveal the next move that can genuinely be deduced. Each game gives one fresh puzzle a day, the same boards for everyone, with a solve timer, a streak and a spoiler-free emoji result to share. Lanterns has a global daily leaderboard of solve times, and all five have best-streak leaderboards through Game Center, with no sign-in required.
Lanterns Daily is made by David Price and came out on the App Store in July 2026. It has no accounts, no ads, no tracking and needs no network. It suits players of Queens, Tango and Zip who want small versions of them together in one app.
How to play Lanterns Daily
- Open Lanterns from the games hub to get today's board.
- Tap a cell once to mark an ember where a lantern cannot go; tap twice to place a lantern.
- Place one lantern in every row, every column and every coloured region.
- Make sure no two lanterns touch, including diagonally, until the whole board is lit.
- Share your time, then play the day's Mini Sudoku, Skyscrapers, Fireflies and Fuse boards.

Tips
- Begin with the smallest region; it has the fewest places for its lantern.
- Mark embers around each lantern straight away, including the diagonals.
- If a region's free cells all lie in one row, mark embers on the rest of that row.
- Hints show a move that can be deduced, so a hint teaches the step instead of guessing for you.
