Tango is LinkedIn's daily binary logic puzzle. You fill a six by six grid with suns and moons so that each row and column has the same number of each, no three of a kind line up, and the = and x signs between cells are respected. A fresh grid arrives every day and your solve time is compared with other players.
About Tango
Tango is LinkedIn's fourth game. It arrived in October 2024, a few months after Queens, Pinpoint and Crossclimb, and it leans further into pure logic. The puzzle belongs to the same family as Takuzu, also known as Binairo, where a grid is filled with two symbols under a few simple rules.
Each day you get a six by six grid with some suns and moons already placed. Every empty cell must become a sun or a moon. Each row and each column must end up with three of each, and you can never have three of the same symbol next to each other in a line. Between some pairs of cells you will see an = sign, meaning the two cells match, or an x, meaning they differ. On some days the suns and moons are swapped for other symbols, but the rules stay the same.
The grid is small, so a good day takes a minute or two, and the challenge is to fill it without trial and error. A hint button shows a cell you can fill next or points out a mistake, and an auto-check setting marks rule breaks with red stripes. After finishing, you can see your time against all players, your company and your connections, and keep a daily streak.
Tango is a good pick for players who like the quick deduction of Queens and want a second short puzzle, or for anyone who has played binary puzzles in newspapers and apps before.
How to play Tango
- Open Tango on LinkedIn and press Start game.
- Look at the cells already filled and the = and x signs between cells.
- Tap an empty cell to place a sun, and tap again to switch it to a moon.
- Make sure no row or column has three of the same symbol side by side.
- Fill the rest so that every row and column holds three suns and three moons, matching every = and x.
Tips
- Two matching symbols side by side mean the cells on both ends of that pair must be the other symbol.
- When a row already has three suns, every remaining cell in it is a moon.
- Follow chains of = and x signs; one known cell often settles several others at once.
- Check for a gap between two matching symbols, such as sun, empty, sun: the middle cell must be a moon.
- Use the auto-check setting while learning so you spot a mistake before it spreads.
Questions
What time does Tango reset?
A new grid is released every day at midnight Pacific Time, and the old one expires.
Is Tango the same as Takuzu or Binairo?
It follows the same idea of filling a grid with two symbols in balance, with the = and x signs added as extra clues.
Do I need a LinkedIn account?
No. You can play as a guest, but you need to sign in to keep a streak, see leaderboards or save your score.
What do the = and x signs mean?
Cells joined by = must hold the same symbol. Cells joined by x must hold different symbols.
Is Tango free?
Yes. It is free on the LinkedIn website and in the LinkedIn app.
