Zip is LinkedIn's daily path puzzle. Starting at 1, you draw a single unbroken line that visits the numbered cells in order and passes through every cell of the grid exactly once, going around any walls. It takes a minute or two, and your time is compared with your network.
About Zip
Zip is the fifth game LinkedIn added to its puzzle lineup, launched in March 2025 after Queens, Pinpoint, Crossclimb and Tango. It is the quickest of the set to learn: there is one rule to follow and one line to draw.
Each day you get a small square grid with numbers in a few of its cells. You press on 1 and drag a path from cell to cell, up, down, left or right, reaching 2, then 3, and so on until the last number. The catch is that the path must cover every single cell on the board and can never cross itself. Some puzzles add thick walls between cells, and the line has to go around them.
Because the line has to fill the board, the numbers are only half the puzzle; the corners and narrow passages often decide the route. If you go wrong, you can drag back along your path to erase it, undo the last move or clear the grid. The hint button wipes the line back to your first mistake and shows the next correct step. Finishing shows your time against all players, your company and your connections, and adds to your streak.
Zip suits players who want a quick warm up before Queens or Tango, and anyone who enjoyed connect-the-dots or maze puzzles as a child but wants something that still asks you to plan ahead.
How to play Zip
- Open Zip on LinkedIn and press Start game.
- Find the cell marked 1 and press on it.
- Drag your path to neighbouring cells, moving up, down, left or right, toward 2.
- Keep going through the numbers in order, steering around any walls.
- Finish on the last number with every cell of the grid covered by your path.
Tips
- Plan the corners first; a corner cell has only two neighbours, so the path through it is often forced.
- Do not leave a single cell cut off; if a cell has only one free neighbour left, the path must end there.
- Look at the walls before you start, since they close off routes you might otherwise try.
- Snake back and forth through open areas so you do not strand strips of empty cells.
- Drag back along the line to erase part of it instead of clearing the whole board.
Questions
What time does Zip reset?
A new Zip puzzle comes out daily at midnight Pacific Time, and the previous one expires.
Do I have to fill every cell?
Yes. The puzzle is only solved when one path passes through every cell and the numbers in order.

No. The line moves only between cells that share a side.
How does the hint work in Zip?
It erases your path back to the first mistake and shows the next correct step.
Is Zip free?
