Mini Sudoku is LinkedIn's small daily sudoku: a 6x6 grid split into six 2x3 boxes, filled with the digits 1 to 6. It is meant to take two or three minutes, and the puzzles get harder from Monday through the week.
About Mini Sudoku
Mini Sudoku is LinkedIn's sixth daily game, launched in August 2025 after Queens, Tango, Zip, Pinpoint and Crossclimb. LinkedIn built it with Nikoli, the Japanese puzzle publisher that gave sudoku its name and made it popular, and with Thomas Snyder, a three-time World Sudoku Champion who handcrafts the daily grids. LinkedIn said it was the first time Nikoli had worked with a Western company.
The rules are the classic ones on a smaller board. The grid has six rows, six columns and six boxes of two by three cells. Some cells start filled in. You place the digits 1 to 6 so that each row, column and box holds every digit exactly once. There is one answer, and it can be reached by logic alone.
The game has the tools you would expect from a sudoku app: pencil notes, a hint button, error checking, undo and highlighting of the row and column you are working in. When you finish, you see your time, your streak and how your connections did on the same puzzle.
A full 9x9 sudoku can take twenty minutes or more; this one is sized for a short break. It suits people who already play LinkedIn's other puzzles, and sudoku players who want a quick warm-up.
How to play Mini Sudoku
- Open Mini Sudoku on LinkedIn in a browser or in the LinkedIn app.
- Look at the 6x6 grid and its six 2x3 boxes, and note the digits already given.
- Tap an empty cell and enter a digit from 1 to 6.
- Make sure no digit repeats in any row, column or box.
- Fill every cell to finish, then compare your time with your connections.
Tips
- Start with rows, columns or boxes that already have four or five digits; the missing ones are easy to place.
- For each digit, scan where it can still go in a box; with only six cells, often just one spot is left.
- Use notes for cells with two candidates, then look for a second cell that settles them.
- Early-week grids are the easiest, so use them to build speed before the harder ones later in the week.
- Avoid the hint button if you are playing for time; work by elimination instead.
