Trifold

Three small logic puzzles every day: beacons, suns and moons, and one path.

Every day: Three logic puzzles a day, one Beacons, one Eclipse and one Circuit, numbered and the same for everyone; the week starts easy and gets harder toward the weekend. New puzzle: Once a day, in the morning (the listing does not state the time).

A Trifold Beacons grid: coloured regions with glowing stars placed and crossed-out cells

Trifold is an iPhone app with three logic puzzles a day: Beacons (a star-battle grid), Eclipse (balance suns and moons) and Circuit (one path through every cell in number order). Everyone gets the same three, numbered, and the week builds from easy to a harder weekend. The daily three are free, with no ads and no account.

About Trifold

Trifold keeps the daily routine small. Each morning brings a numbered trio, Trifold #168 for example, shown as three cards. Solve one to keep your streak, or all three for a perfect day. The difficulty follows the week, starting easy and building toward a harder weekend.

Beacons is a star-battle grid: place one beacon in every row, every column and every coloured region, with no two touching, even at the corners. Eclipse is a binairo: fill the grid so suns and moons are balanced in each row and column, never three of the same in a line. Circuit is a one-line path puzzle: draw a single unbroken path through every cell, passing the numbers in order. Each comes with a short tutorial you play through to learn it.

The daily three are free for good, with no ads, no subscription, no account and no tracking, and the app works offline. A one-time purchase, Trifold Unlimited, adds unlimited practice in five difficulties and the complete archive of past dailies. Streaks are protected by a freeze you earn rather than buy, and there are personal-best times, a completion calendar, a streak heatmap, 26 badges and spoiler-free share cards.

Trifold is made by Jason Jude Rahme and came out on the App Store in August 2026. It suits players who already do Queens, Tango and Zip and would like the same three kinds of puzzle together in one quiet app.

How to play Trifold

  1. Open Trifold to see today's numbered set of three puzzles.
  2. Solve Beacons: one beacon per row, column and colour region, with no two touching.
  3. Solve Eclipse: balance suns and moons in every row and column, never three alike in a line.
  4. Solve Circuit: draw one path through every cell, meeting the numbers in order.
  5. Solve one to keep your streak, all three for a perfect day, and come back the next morning.

Tips

  • In Beacons, start with the smallest region: it has the fewest places a beacon can go.
  • Mark cells around each placed beacon as empty right away, including the diagonals.
  • In Eclipse, two equal symbols side by side always force the opposite on both sides.
  • In Circuit, cells in corners and along walls have only two ways out; fill them early.
