How Close? is a free browser game that asks five number questions a day, the same set for everyone. You slide to your estimate, lock it in, see the real answer with a short fact, and earn up to 100 points a question. Your first run of the day is your official score out of 500, and you can share it without spoilers.
About How Close?
How Close? is a daily estimation game played in the browser at playhowclose.com. Each day it serves five questions about real quantities: how many people took part in a famous expedition, how long a blue whale lives, how fast a nerve signal travels, how long the Great Wall of China is. Everyone who plays that day gets the same five.
Each question shows a category, a short hint about where the figure comes from and a slider with a lower and an upper bound in the question's unit. You move the slider to your guess and lock it in. The game then shows your guess beside the real answer, an accuracy bar, the points you earned out of 100 and a sentence explaining the figure.
After the fifth question you see your total out of 500, a row of result tiles, your current streak and how today compares with yesterday. Only the first run counts as the official score; you can replay the same five for fun, and a countdown shows when the next set arrives. No account is needed, and the share button copies your score and tiles without giving the answers away.
The game is about a sense of scale rather than knowing exact facts, so a careful guess that lands in the right range still scores well. It can be played in English or Slovak. It suits players who like quick number quizzes and want one short session a day.

Tips
- Read the hint: it names the source or the rounding the game uses, such as a midpoint of a range.
- Use the slider's two ends as a guide; the real answer always lies between them.
- Your first run is the one that counts, so take your time before locking each guess in.
