Timeline is the history game on Hemiscope, a site of seven small daily puzzles from Kyro Game Studios. Each day you get seven events without dates, from ancient history to recent years, and drop each one onto a timeline between the ones already placed. It has an Easy and a Regular level and gives a spoiler-free grid to share.

About Hemiscope Timeline

Timeline is one of seven daily puzzles on Hemiscope, a small collection of geography, history and logic games made by Kyro Game Studios. The others include a country guessing game, a globe game and a ranking game, but Timeline is the one about history.

Each puzzle has seven cards, each an event with no date, such as an epidemic, an election or a treaty. The timeline starts with one anchor event already placed with its year, and the scale runs from the earliest event in the set, as far back as 2560 BCE, up to the present. You drag each new card onto the timeline, earlier to the left and later to the right, so it sits between the events you have already placed. You can also skip a card, and the game has an Easy and a Regular level.

The events come from a fact-checked set of a few hundred historical events built for the game, each with a verified year, shuffled into a new order each day. The puzzle is generated from the date, so everyone gets the same one, and it resets at midnight in your own time zone. When you finish you get a spoiler-free grid to share.

Progress is stored on your device and does not sync between the website and the iPhone app. The app adds live duels against friends, an endless Survival mode and collectable explorers across all the Hemiscope games.

How to play Hemiscope Timeline

  1. Open hemiscope.com/timeline and choose Easy or Regular.
  2. Read the event on the current card; it has no date.
  3. Drag it onto the timeline, to the left of events you think came later and to the right of earlier ones.
  4. Repeat for all seven cards, or skip one if you are stuck.
  5. Check your result and share the spoiler-free grid.

Tips

  • Use the anchor event and the date range at the top to judge whether a card belongs far back or near today.
  • Place the cards you are surest of first if you skip; they give firmer reference points for the rest.
  • Think in centuries before years: deciding whether an event is ancient, medieval or modern does most of the work.
  • Read event names closely for hints such as a country's former name or a technology that dates it.
