Headle
Rate itA daily Wordle duel: your opening guess becomes the computer's word, and its opener becomes yours.
Every day: A new daily duel each day against a computer opponent: six tries at a hidden five-letter word, resetting at your local midnight. New puzzle: Midnight in your time zone.

Headle is a daily five-letter word game played as a race against a computer. You both get six tries with the usual green, yellow and grey tiles, but your first guess is the word the computer must solve and its first guess is the word you are chasing; whoever solves first wins.
About Headle
Headle keeps the rules of Wordle and adds an opponent sitting across from you. Two boards sit side by side, You and Computer Opponent, and you take turns. The twist is in the openers: your opening guess becomes the computer's hidden word, and the computer's opening guess is yours to find.
That changes how you start. A safe, information-rich first word helps you, but it also hands the computer an easy target, so a good opener balances what you learn against what you give away. You win by solving your word first, and it is a tie if you both finish on the same turn.
A fresh duel arrives each day at midnight in your own time zone. Every finished game adjusts a skill rating with an Elo calculation, and you earn experience and keep a streak. It can be played in English, French and Spanish.
How to play Headle
- Type a five-letter word and press Enter: this opener also becomes the computer's hidden word.
- Read your tiles: green is the right letter in the right place, yellow is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in it.
- Keep guessing, turn by turn against the computer, with six tries each.
- Solve your word before the computer solves yours; finishing on the same turn is a tie.
Tips
- Pick an opener with an awkward letter pattern to slow the computer down.
- Do not use your strongest Wordle opener: it is easy for the opponent to solve.
- Watch the computer's board: its progress tells you how many turns you have.
