Gunmetal Orbit, wave 9 of 10: a mining exosuit fighting among asteroids and enemy ships near an orbital station, with health, cargo and kill counters and a streak bonus

Gunmetal Orbit is a Brotato-style roguelite set in a 2.5D asteroid field: fly a mining exosuit, stack up to six auto-firing weapons, and mine ore while fighting waves, gambling cargo for bigger payouts. The Daily Contract gives every pilot the same seeded 14-wave run.

About Gunmetal Orbit

Gunmetal Orbit was made by Austin Spraggins out of love for Brotato and similar short, auto-firing roguelites, with a twist of its own: you fly a heavy mining exosuit through an asteroid field and fight while you mine. Your weapons fire on their own; you steer with twin-stick controls, dash through openings, crack asteroids and collect ore.

Ore is a gamble. A fuller hold pays more but slows you down, drops chunks when you are hit and draws Corsairs who want your cargo, so you choose between banking early at the station and staying out for one more load. Up to six weapons from an arsenal of 28 can be equipped at once, two in hand and four on articulated gun arms, and a growing orbital outpost carries progress between runs of 10 to 30 waves, or Endless.

The Daily Contract fixes the spacer, sector, hazard and a seeded 14-wave run for every pilot, and a service record keeps each contract score. It runs on Windows and Linux.

It suits fans of Brotato and Vampire Survivors who like a risk-reward twist and a daily run to compare.

How to play Gunmetal Orbit

  1. Launch Gunmetal Orbit on Steam and accept the Daily Contract.
  2. Fly your exosuit with twin-stick controls; weapons fire automatically.
  3. Crack asteroids and collect ore while fighting each wave.
  4. Decide when to bank your cargo at the station before it slows you or draws raiders.
  5. Survive the contract's 14 seeded waves.

Tips

  • Bank cargo before big waves; a full hold makes you slow and a target.
  • Pick weapons that cover different ranges so all six arms stay useful.
