About Gridlings

Gridlings is a browser puzzle collection that offers eleven logic games every day. The title game, Gridlings, is a double Latin square with animals and colours: place every animal in every colour so no row, column or pair repeats and no animal touches itself. Alongside it are Star Battle (two stars on a 10x10), Nonogram, Balance (a binary puzzle), Futoshiki, Towers, a 6x6 Mini Sudoku, Kropki, Sandwich, Thermometers and Trail.

Each game has its own numbered daily board, and a fresh one appears at 00:00 UTC, the same for everyone. The makers have prepared 450 daily boards per game, and every board is machine-checked before publication to have exactly one solution reachable by deduction alone. For nonograms the page notes that only 43 percent of random 20x20 boards can be solved without guessing, while theirs are all checked board by board.

A timer runs while you play, a Hint button helps when you are stuck, and Share result copies a spoiler-free summary. A Daily Sweep meta-game rewards clearing all eleven in one day and keeps a streak. Outside the daily you can play free boards at three difficulties and browse the full archive.

Gridlings needs no account and shows no ads. It works on phones, can be installed to the home screen, and is available in English and Chinese.

How to play Gridlings

1. Open Gridlings and pick one of the eleven daily puzzles.
2. Read the short rules under the board; for Gridlings, place every animal in every colour with no repeats in a row, column or pair.
3. Tap cells to fill them, using pure deduction; no guess is ever needed.
4. Use Hint if you are stuck, then finish the board and share your result.
5. Clear all eleven dailies in one day to keep your Daily Sweep streak.

• Start with the smaller games such as Mini Sudoku to warm up before Star Battle or Nonogram.
• Every board has exactly one solution, so if you feel forced to guess, look again for a deduction.
• Use the cross mark in Nonogram to note cells you know are empty.
