About Cluewright
Cluewright is an independent puzzle site that puts nine daily games side by side. Six are logic games: Sudoku, Nonograms, Bridges (also known as Hashi), Star Battle, Mine Counts and Cage Sums. Three are word games: Word Tower, Word Ladder and Word Detective. Each day brings a new puzzle in every one of them, and everyone gets the same set for that date.
The logic games each run a ladder of six levels: Novice, Easy, Easy+, Medium, Medium+ and Hard. Each level is a separate puzzle, so a day holds thirty-six logic grids. The site says every puzzle is checked for one solution and for a solving route that never needs a blind guess; at the top level of Sudoku and Bridges you may need a short what-if, testing one choice until it breaks a rule. The levels are tuned within each game, so a Hard Nonogram and a Hard Sudoku are not meant to take the same time.
The word games use shorter ladders. Word Tower has you unscramble each rung of a tower, gaining one letter as you climb, and Word Ladder asks you to turn the top word into the bottom one a letter at a time; both come in a Standard and a Challenge version. Word Detective is a guess-the-word game with green, yellow and grey letter clues, three puzzles a day.
What sets Cluewright apart from other daily puzzle pages is its help. Hint names the row, column or region that decides the next move and shades the cells, but leaves the placement to you. Notes keeps your candidates on the grid, Check tells you whether what you have placed is right, and Reveal shows a cell if you want it; a result that used Check or Reveal says so. Each game also has a guide to its rules and techniques.
You play in the browser without signing in. Today's and yesterday's puzzles are open to everyone, solving on consecutive days builds a streak, and you can share a result without giving away the solution. Signing in only carries progress across devices. It suits players who like a range of pen-and-paper puzzle types and want to pick their own difficulty each day.
How to play Cluewright
- Open cluewright.com and pick one of the nine games from today's list.
- For a logic game, choose a level from Novice to Hard; each level is its own puzzle for the day.
- Read the one-line rule above the game, such as every row, column and box holding 1 to 9 in Sudoku, or one star per row, column and region in Star Battle.
- Fill the grid by deduction, using Notes to keep track of candidates, and press Hint if you are stuck to see where the next step is.
- For the word games, unscramble each rung of Word Tower, change one letter at a time in Word Ladder, or guess the secret word in Word Detective from its coloured clues.
- Finish the puzzle, share your result if you like, and come back the next day to keep your streak.

Tips
- Start a new game at Novice to learn its flow, then move up a level once the singles feel automatic.
- In Sudoku, hunt one digit at a time across every box, row and column where it is missing.
- A Hint points to the area that matters without spending the answer, so try it before Check or Reveal if you want a clean solve.
- Missed a day? Yesterday's puzzles are still open, so you can catch up.
