GeoTemp is BuzzFeed's daily country game. There is no map or picture to study: you type any country, and the game tells you how hot or cold you are. Each day has Easy, Medium and Hard rounds, plus an optional Impossible round played by capital city.

About GeoTemp (BuzzFeed)

GeoTemp, billed as the country hot and cold game, is one of the daily games on BuzzFeed Games. Each puzzle is numbered and dated, with an archive of earlier days, and number 145 fell on 1 October 2026.

Each day brings three rounds, Easy, Medium and Hard, and an optional Impossible bonus round in which you guess by capital city. In every round there is a hidden country. You type the name of any country, with autocomplete to help with spelling, and each guess comes back with a hot or cold signal telling you how close you are. From there it is a matter of recall: thinking of countries near the warm guesses and working inward until you hit the right one.

Unlike map games such as Globle, you see no shape or map, so it rewards knowing where countries sit in relation to one another. The page carries ads and a comment thread for each day.

It suits geography fans who enjoy Globle-style distance clues and want a test of memory rather than of reading a map.

How to play GeoTemp (BuzzFeed)

  1. Open today's GeoTemp on BuzzFeed Games.
  2. Type the name of any country; autocomplete helps.
  3. Read the hot or cold signal your guess gets back.
  4. Guess countries closer to your warmest guess until you find the mystery country.
  5. Play the Easy, Medium and Hard rounds, then try the Impossible bonus by capital city if you like.

Tips

  • Open with a large, central country to get a useful first reading.
  • When a guess is hot, try its neighbours before jumping across a continent.
  • For the capital-city bonus, think of the country first and then its capital.
