GeoRankle (Geotrivia)

Put each country in the ranking where it places highest.

Every day: One numbered round a day for everyone (No. 260 on 3 October 2026): countries appear one at a time and you assign each to a ranking category, such as GDP per capita, land area or military strength, scoring by how high it ranks there. New puzzle: Once a day (the site does not state the time).

GeoRankle #28 in the Geotrivia app: the flag of Czechia above a list of categories such as Homicide Rate, Tourism Arrivals and Military Strength, each filled with a country and its rank

GeoRankle is Geotrivia's daily ranking game. One country at a time appears with its flag, and you pick which category to use it in, from GDP per capita to coastline or tourism arrivals. Each category can be used once, and your score depends on how high each country ranks in the category you chose.

About GeoRankle (Geotrivia)

GeoRankle gives everyone the same numbered set each day; on 3 October 2026 it was No. 260 and opened with Gabon. Below the flag sits a list of categories such as capital population, land area, GDP per capita, annual precipitation, average temperature, military strength, alcohol consumption and highest point. Assign the country to the category where you think it ranks best in the world, and its rank (#9, #41, #100+) is filled in.

The skill is in timing: a country with a huge coastline should go in Coastline, but if a later country would rank even higher there, you may have wasted it. After eight countries the board is full and your points are tallied, with World and Europe versions of the round.

GeoRankle is one of five daily games on Geotrivia, alongside Geodle, GeoDecide, GeoConnections and GeoPaint, all numbered and available in the browser and in the Geotrivia app for iOS and Android. They are free with ads; a Pro subscription adds the archive and removes ads.

It suits geography players who enjoy statistics more than maps.

How to play GeoRankle (Geotrivia)

  1. Open today's GeoRankle; the first country and its flag appear.
  2. Pick the ranking category where you think the country places highest.
  3. The country's world rank in that category is filled in, and the next country appears.
  4. Use each category once and fill the board with eight countries.
  5. See your points and compare your result.

Tips

  • Save categories where a few countries are far ahead (military strength, tourism) for a country that is clearly near the top.
  • Small countries often rank well in per-capita and percentage categories.
  • Large countries are natural fits for land area and coastline.
  • Think about what is still to come: an obvious pick now can block a better one later.
