Every day: Today's made-up word, the same for every player, to define within three minutes; the next day everyone votes on the definitions. New puzzle: Each day at 6am, as the how-to-play card says (time zone not given).

Flaminguist is a free browser word game built around one invented word a day. You reveal the word, have three minutes to write a definition for it, and come back the next day to read everyone's definitions and vote for the best. Together the players build an all-time dictionary of the words.
About Flaminguist
Flaminguist is a daily word game in the spirit of the parlour game Fictionary, but with no real definition hidden among the fakes. Each day the site has one made-up word, the same for every player. You tap Reveal today's word, and a three-minute clock starts the moment you do.
In those three minutes you invent and submit a definition. There is nothing to get right: the aim is to write something clever or funny enough that other players will pick it. The word resets each day at 6am, according to the site's how-to-play card.
The next day you return to the Vote tab to read the definitions everyone wrote for the previous word and vote for your favourite; you can also skip straight to voting. The Fictionary tab holds the all-time dictionary built from past words, and the Me tab shows your profile. You can sign up for an account.
How to play Flaminguist
- Open flaminguist.com and tap Reveal today's word; the three-minute clock starts at once.
- Invent a definition for the made-up word and submit it before the clock runs out.
- Come back the next day and open Vote to read everyone's definitions for the previous word.
- Vote for the definition you like best.
- Browse the Fictionary tab to see the words and definitions collected so far.
Tips
- Read the word aloud before writing: its sound often suggests a meaning other players will enjoy.
- Keep the definition short so you finish well inside three minutes.
