Freestyle
Rhyme with the word of the day.
Every day: One word of the day, the same for everyone and numbered: find rhymes for it. By default you pick three rhymes whose syllables add up exactly to the day's target; a classic mode scores your best seven. New puzzle: Midnight, local time.

Freestyle is a daily rhyming game. Each day brings one word, and you answer with rhymes: in the default mode you choose three rhymes whose syllables add up to the day's exact target, and in classic mode longer rhymes score more across a card of seven. A leaderboard shows how everyone else did with the same word.
About Freestyle
Freestyle is a small word game by Julianna and Taq built around one idea: rhyme with the word of the day. Every player gets the same numbered word each day, and the site keeps a leaderboard for that day so you can see how your answer compares.
A rhyme here means a word that matches the ending sound, so LIGHT takes DELIGHT, TONIGHT and OVERNIGHT. The default mode turns that into a small sum: the day has a syllable target, and you must hit it exactly with three rhymes, each one locked in as you play, so a two-syllable rhyme and a three-syllable one leave you hunting for exactly the right last word. Your result is how close you came, and the results page shows what share of players hit the target.
The original classic mode is still there: find as many rhymes as you can, with longer rhymes scoring more, and your score is the sum of your best seven. After a game you can browse the words other players found, tap any of them for its dictionary definition, and open earlier days from the archive.
It suits players who like playing with sound as much as spelling, and it takes a couple of minutes. There is nothing to install and no account to make.
How to play Freestyle
- Open the game and read the word of the day and the day's syllable target.
- Type a word that rhymes with it (it must match the ending sound) and lock it in.
- Pick three rhymes in all, choosing their lengths so their syllables add up exactly to the target.
- See how close you came and how many other players hit the target.
- For the original game, switch to classic mode and find as many long rhymes as you can for a card of seven.
Tips
- Count syllables before you lock a word in: the last of the three slots is the hard one, so leave yourself room.
- Keep a one-syllable rhyme in reserve to finish an exact total.
- Prefixes are your friend: re-, de- and over- turn a short rhyme into a longer one.
