Tuba ScubaMission: Ignition

Daily Hamster card showing a Tuba Scuba board of rhyming clue pairs beside a Mission: Ignition rocket countdown board

Daily Hamster is the daily games page of the RhymeHamster rhyming dictionary. Each day it sets two puzzles: Tuba Scuba, six silly clues answered with perfect rhyme pairs, and Mission: Ignition, ten clues whose answers all rhyme with one word to launch a rocket. No account is needed, and past days wait on a calendar.

About Daily Hamster

Daily Hamster is where RhymeHamster, a hand-curated online rhyming dictionary, keeps its daily games. The page opened in September 2026 and holds two puzzles a day, each numbered from launch day, plus a Rhyme of the Day word with a list of its rhymes. Simon, the site's cartoon hamster, dresses up for each game: in a tuba and flippers for one, in a space suit for the other.

Tuba Scuba gives six clues such as "a party at the dump", and every answer is a pair of words that rhyme perfectly. The clues come in three tiers: one-syllable rhymes (Toob Scoob), two-syllable rhymes (Tuba Scuba) and a final three-syllable pair (Tubaly Scubaly). Each pair is worth points, up to 12 a day, and the hints you take cost some of them.

Mission: Ignition counts down from T-minus 10. The day names a rocket word, and all ten answers rhyme with it. Each clue tells you how many letters the answer has; you type it in, and each right answer moves the countdown one step closer to liftoff. If you are stuck you can ask for the first letter, skip the clue or have the answer shown.

There are no accounts: results, streaks, perfect games and best streaks are kept in your own browser, and a share button copies a spoiler-free summary of your day. Each game has an archive calendar of every puzzle so far, marked by how you did. It suits players who like Twofer Goofer or Witty Ditty and want a second rhyming puzzle in the same sitting.

How to play Daily Hamster

  1. Open Daily Hamster and pick Tuba Scuba or Mission: Ignition from today's games.
  2. In Tuba Scuba, read a clue and type the two rhyming words it describes, working through one-, two- and three-syllable rhymes.
  3. Take a hint on a Tuba Scuba clue only when you need it, since hints cost points out of the day's 12.
  4. In Mission: Ignition, read the clue and its letter count and type a word that rhymes with the day's rocket word.
  5. Use First letter, Skip or Show it when a Mission clue stalls you, and keep going until all ten are done and the rocket lifts off.
  6. Share your result, then open the archive calendar to play days you missed.

Tips

  • In Tuba Scuba the clue usually describes the second word and the first word bends it: find the noun first, then hunt its rhyme.
  • In Mission: Ignition say the rocket word out loud and run through the alphabet in front of its ending; the letter count narrows it fast.
  • Two-word answers are allowed in Mission: Ignition, so a clue that will not fit one word may want a short phrase that rhymes.
