Rhyme Time gives you three words with most of their letters hidden and tells you only that they rhyme. You fill in all three, with as many tries as you need and one letter reveal to spend each day.

About Rhyme Time

Rhyme Time is a small browser word game that started in April 2022. Each day it shows three words in a column, each with a handful of letters in place and the rest left blank. The only other clue is the one in the title: all three words rhyme.

The trick is that rhymes often hide behind different spellings. A set might pair juice with moose and excuse, or whey with sleigh and display, so the letters you can see do not always point to the ending you need. The game checks rhymes against the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary, so more than one set of words can count as a solution.

There is no guess limit and no timer. If you get stuck you can choose one letter of the alphabet, once per day, and the game tells you whether it appears anywhere in the answer. It tracks solves and streaks in your browser, and shows yesterday's solution so you can check one you missed.

It suits players who like Wordle-style daily habits but want something closer to a crossword clue: a few minutes of sounding words out loud rather than eliminating letters.

How to play Rhyme Time

  1. Look at the three words and the letters already filled in.
  2. Think of an ending that all three could share, keeping in mind that rhymes can be spelled differently.
  3. Type a word into each of the three rows and press enter to submit the set.
  4. If you are stuck, tap the alphabet icon and pick one letter to learn whether it is in the solution; you get one per day.
  5. Keep guessing until all three rows are accepted, then come back tomorrow for a new set.

Tips

  • Say the visible fragments out loud: the sound matters more than the spelling.
  • Start with the shortest word, which usually has the fewest possible endings.
  • Save your letter reveal for a vowel you are unsure of; vowels decide most rhymes.

Questions

When does Rhyme Time reset?

How many guesses do you get?

As many as you want. The only limit is one letter reveal per day.

Is there more than one right answer?

Sometimes. Any three words that fit the shown letters and rhyme in the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary are accepted.
