OneWord
Everyone gets the same word; describe it in exactly five.
Every day: One word a day, the same for everyone; each player describes it in exactly five words, then votes on others' descriptions in head-to-head pairs, and a leaderboard ranks them. New puzzle: Once a day (the listing does not state the time).

OneWord is an iPhone word game with no right answers. Each day every player gets the same word and writes a five-word description of it. Players then vote between pairs of descriptions, and a global leaderboard shows whose description came out on top.
About OneWord
OneWord turns the daily word into a small writing contest. When you open the app you see today's word, such as OCEAN, with a theme label underneath, and five slots to fill. You describe the word in exactly five words and submit. There is nothing to guess and no wrong answer; the constraint is the game.
After you submit, the voting starts. The app shows two players' descriptions of the same word side by side and you tap the one you like better, working through a set of matchups. The listing says the votes feed an Elo-style rating, and by the end of the day the leaderboard ranks every description, with a global view and a friends view.
Because everyone writes about the same word, the fun is in reading how many different ways people find to say it. The app keeps a daily streak with milestone badges, lets you add friends to see their descriptions, and makes share cards of your entry. It can be played in English or Spanish.
OneWord is published by Norry Holdings Ltd and came out on the App Store in March 2026. It suits players who like wordplay and writing more than solving, and those who enjoy community games where the crowd decides.

Tips
- Avoid the first description that comes to mind: many others will write something close to it.
- A small twist or joke tends to stand out in head-to-head votes more than a plain definition.
- Use all five words; short, rhythmic phrases read well when people compare two at a glance.
- Read other players' entries while voting: it shows what kind of description wins.
