Cubisum board of numbered boxes behind the welcome tutorial window

Cubisum is a daily number puzzle on a grid of boxes. Clicking a box raises the numbers on its neighbouring boxes, and the goal is to make every number on the board match. There are three difficulty levels each day, a leaderboard, and multiplayer modes against friends or strangers.

About Cubisum

Cubisum is a browser logic game built on one simple action. Each box on the grid shows a number, and clicking or tapping a box adds one to the boxes next to it; a right click or long press takes one away. A box can be clicked up to four times before it cycles back, and dots or colours on the box show how many times you have used it. You win when all the numbers on the board match.

The daily puzzle is generated from the date with a seeded random generator, in Easy, Medium and Hard sizes, so everyone with the same date gets the same boards. The game says there is a new Cubisum every day at 5 PM your time. An optional timer and number dots can be switched on in the settings, and the result screen gives your time and move count to share.

Besides the daily Classic puzzle there is Public Multiplayer, where you race players from around the world, and Play with Friends, a private room with a game code. A Play More button gives extra boards once you have finished the daily one. It suits players who like small arithmetic puzzles where the trick is in the order of moves.

How to play Cubisum

  1. Choose a difficulty: Easy, Medium or Hard.
  2. Click or tap a box to add one to each of its neighbours; right click or long press to take one away.
  3. Watch the dots on each box: a box can be used up to four times before it resets.
  4. Keep adjusting until every number on the board is the same.
  5. Share your time and moves, check the leaderboard, or try multiplayer.

Tips

  • Work out which boxes affect a stubborn number before clicking; every click changes several numbers at once.
  • Turn on number dots in settings so you can see how often each box has been clicked.
  • Undo a move with a right click or long press instead of resetting the whole board.
  • Start on Easy to learn how neighbours interact, then move to Hard.
