Cluexy Daily chain #95: a row of five links starting from ROCK, the prompt Build the word that pairs with ROCK with five empty squares, three hearts and letter tiles S A I L D O E

Cluexy is a daily word chain. Each link shows a clue word, and you build the word that pairs with it to make a phrase, like egg and shell for eggshell, from a row of letter tiles. Your answer becomes the next clue, and five links finish the chain.

About Cluexy

Cluexy gives everyone the same numbered chain each day; number 95 started from ROCK on 3 October 2026. Two words can join to make a phrase or compound, egg + shell = eggshell, and the game asks you to find the word that completes each pair. The answer then becomes the clue for the next link, so a chain of five links runs from the starting word through four more.

You build each answer by tapping letters from a small set of tiles, with the empty squares showing how long the word is. You get four tries per link and three lives for the chain. A hint button gives a plain-English clue to what the missing word means, paid for with coins earned in play, and coins can also revive you or save a streak. A timer runs, and the fastest solvers appear on a daily leaderboard if you sign in.

A calendar records days won, lost and missed, and a practice chain is there once the daily is done. The game was shared on Show HN in July 2026 as a Wordle-style puzzle made by its creator's nine-year-old child.

It suits players who like compound-word puzzles and a short daily streak.

How to play Cluexy

  1. Open cluexy.com to see the first clue word of the day's chain.
  2. Tap letter tiles to build the word that pairs with it, like EGG + SHELL.
  3. Submit it; you have four tries per link.
  4. Your answer becomes the next clue; complete all five links.
  5. Use a hint if stuck, and share your result.

Tips

  • Try the clue as both the first and second half of a compound.
  • Count the empty squares first: the answer's length narrows the options a lot.
