WORD·Y
Find the three words that join the day's word to make compounds.
Every day: One numbered link word a day, the same for everyone, with three hidden words that each join it to make a compound word or phrase. New puzzle: Once a day.

WORD·Y is a daily compound-word puzzle. Each day shows one word, such as STOCK, and three empty answers of given lengths; each answer joins the day's word, before or after it, to make a compound. It rewards accuracy over speed: no timer, no adverts and no account.
About WORD·Y
WORD·Y builds each day's puzzle around a single link word. On 3 October 2026, puzzle 223, the word was stock, and the board showed three answers waiting to be found: a seven-letter word and a three-letter word that come before it, and a four-letter word that comes after it. Arrows on the board show which side of the link word each answer goes.
You fill in each answer by thinking of words that make a familiar compound or phrase with the day's word. The letter boxes tell you how long each answer is, which helps narrow down the options.
The game is built to be calm. It counts accuracy rather than time, carries no adverts or third-party analytics, and needs no account. Every player gets the same word and the same three answers.
It suits players who enjoy compound-word and link puzzles and want one short, careful solve a day.
How to play WORD·Y
- Read the day's link word in the middle of the board.
- Note the length of each answer and whether it goes before or after the link word.
- Type a word that makes a compound or phrase with the link word.
- Fill all three answers, taking care, since accuracy is what counts.
Tips
- Say the link word aloud with common words before and after it; compounds often come to mind by sound.
- Use the letter count to rule out near misses.
- Think of both closed compounds (stockpile) and two-word phrases.
