Triple Link for 7 Oct 2026, The Switchboard: clue plates FALL, FLAKE and BALL wired to an empty answer slot, three attempt bulbs lit, a ONE WORD box with Connect and Clear

Triple Link is the word association puzzle in Clue Morning's daily set. Each day everyone sees the same three clues, and you look for the one word that forms a familiar phrase or compound with all three. You have three guesses, and a miss on all three reveals the answer.

About Triple Link (Clue Morning)

Triple Link is the fourth of seven daily games on Clue Morning, a small free site whose morning set also includes Letter Grid, Four Groups, Letter Trail, Word Steps, Deep Cut and Last Call. It is a compact remote-association puzzle: three clues, one answer.

The site's own example is FALL, COAT and BOW, which all join with RAIN to make rainfall, raincoat and rainbow. The linking word can come before a clue in one phrase and after another clue in the next, so you have to test a candidate against all three before you spend a guess. On 7 Oct 2026 the clues read ___ FALL, ___ FLAKE and ___ BALL.

The page is dressed as an old telephone switchboard. The three clues sit on lit plates with cables running to a central slot, you type one word and press Connect, and three bulbs count your remaining attempts. A score and a streak sit at the top. If all three guesses miss, the answer and the three completed links are shown.

The puzzle changes at midnight Pacific time with the rest of the daily set, and guesses are checked on Clue Morning's server. Your result feeds the Morning Run total across seven games, with a streak, an archive and a daily leaderboard. The daily set is free in the browser with no account; a paid Unlimited pass adds a reserve library of extra puzzles outside the daily game.

How to play Triple Link (Clue Morning)

  1. Open Triple Link on Clue Morning and read the three clues on the switchboard.
  2. Think of one word that makes a familiar phrase or compound with the first clue.
  3. Check that the same word also works with the other two clues, before or after them.
  4. Type the word and press Connect; each miss costs one of three attempts.
  5. Find the link within three guesses, or see the answer and the three completed phrases.

Tips

  • Start from the clue with the fewest common partners, then test those few against the other two.
  • Say each candidate both before and after every clue; the link does not always sit on the same side.
  • Do not settle for a phrase that only technically exists; the intended links are familiar ones.
  • Underscores in a clue show where the hidden word goes, which tells you its side for that clue.
