CHN LNK
Reveal a chain of linked words one letter at a time, with five lives.
Every day: One new chain of linked words a day, the same for every player, solved one letter at a time with five lives, plus a daily mystery letter for bonus dynamite. New puzzle: Midnight in your own time zone; the game moves to the next chain at local midnight.

CHN LNK is a daily word chain game. Each word in the chain pairs with the next to make a common phrase, like trail mix and mix tape, and you uncover them by guessing letters, hangman style. Vowels stay locked until every other letter is found, and each wrong letter costs one of five lives.
About CHN LNK
CHN LNK calls itself the daily word chain game. Each day there is one chain of words in which every word links with the one below it to form a familiar phrase or compound: the game's own example runs forest trail, trail mix, mix tape, tape measure, measure step and step ladder.
You solve the whole chain by guessing letters. A letter that appears in any word of the chain lights up in green wherever it falls. The twist is that vowels are disabled until you have found all the consonants, so you have to read the shape of the words from their consonants alone. You start with five lives and lose one for each wrong letter; lives left at the end turn into stars, up to five a day.
Around that core sits a layer of extras. A daily mystery letter earns dynamite if you guess it next, and dynamite clears three letters that are not in any remaining word. Playing four days running switches on a safety net that forgives one wrong letter. A timed mode gives you a minute per guess. There are streak badges, a monthly leaderboard, a friends and family leaderboard and a calendar of past chains.
It suits players who like hangman and phrase puzzles, and anyone who enjoys the chain-of-phrases idea in games like Circuits.
How to play CHN LNK
- Open CHN LNK and look at the empty chain of words, linked from top to bottom.
- Click a letter to guess it; if it is in any word of the chain, it lights up green there.
- Find all the consonants first, since vowels stay locked until then.
- Use the links between words, each pair making a common phrase, to work out the rest.
- Finish the chain before you run out of your five lives; lives left become stars.
Tips
- Start with common consonants such as T, R, S, N and L to fill the most tiles.
- Read each pair as a phrase: once one word is clear, the words above and below it narrow fast.
- Save dynamite for late in the chain, when ruling out three letters matters most.
- Play daily: four days in a row turns on the safety net, which forgives one wrong letter.
