Every day: A new chain of words every day, with fixed first and last words and a par number of moves to beat. New puzzle: Once a day.

Compound Your Joy is a daily word-chain puzzle from the OneLook dictionary site. You get a row of jumbled words between a fixed start and end word, and you drag them into order so that each pair side by side is a familiar phrase, like bomb crater and crater lake, ideally within par.
About Compound Your Joy (OneLook)
Compound Your Joy comes from OneLook, the dictionary and thesaurus search site, which also makes word games such as Threepeat and Cadgy. Each day it lays out a row of words: the pink first and last words are fixed, and the green ones between them are in the wrong order.
You pick up and drag words to rearrange the row until every neighbouring pair forms a two-word phrase or compound, such as hot dog. A move counter and a clock run as you play, and each puzzle has a par, so the extra challenge is to finish in that many moves or fewer. When the chain is complete, the game shows a definition for each phrase you made, some of them place names or terms you may not have met.
Beside the daily chain, a New game button deals more, and variations add Definition, Proverb, Emoji and Hard phrase modes. It suits players who like compound-word and phrase-chain puzzles and want something that takes a few minutes.
How to play Compound Your Joy (OneLook)
- Look at the fixed pink words at each end of the row.
- Drag a green word to a new place in the chain.
- Keep rearranging until every adjacent pair is a familiar two-word phrase.
- Try to finish within the par number of moves, then read the definitions of your phrases.
Tips
- Start from the fixed ends: find the word that pairs with the first word, then work inward.
- Some links are place names or technical terms, so think beyond everyday phrases.
- Plan a move before dragging: each drag counts against par.
