About ChangeWord
ChangeWord takes the classic word ladder and turns it into a daily three-stage puzzle. Every stage gives you a start word and a target. You change the word one move at a time, either replacing a letter or inserting a new one, and every intermediate word has to be a real word. Most of the time you will need to change every letter, but sometimes there is a shortcut.
Scoring works like golf. Each move is one point, each hint adds another point, and lower is better. The three stages run from easy to medium to hard, and your daily total is compared with the global average. An undo button and a move history help you backtrack.
The game keeps your current and longest streak, games played, average score and a score distribution, and archives let you play earlier days. You can switch between English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch and Swedish, each with its own puzzle and separate progress.
