Word Bunny
Hop from one word to the next a letter at a time, through the day's target words.
Every day: One new word path a day for everyone: a start word and one or more target words, with a par for the number of hops, picked by the date in New York. New puzzle: Midnight Eastern Time (the game picks the puzzle by the date in New York).

Word Bunny is a browser word ladder with a new path every day. You start from one word and change it a letter at a time, adding, removing or swapping letters, so that every step is a real word, until you reach each target in turn. The fewer hops you take against the day's par, the better.
About Word Bunny
Word Bunny is a daily word ladder for the browser. Each puzzle has a start word, one or more target words and a par, and the path is shown at the top of the screen: one recent day ran from GLAD to I to EXIST with a par of 16. Your job is to get through every target in as few moves as you can.
You change the current word by dragging letters, either from the keyboard into the word or out of the word. Unlike a classic ladder, the word can grow and shrink, so a short target can sit between two long ones. Each step has to be a real word from the game's word list, and no word may be used twice. A trash button and an undo let you back out of a dead end.
The daily puzzle is chosen by the date in New York, so it turns over at midnight Eastern Time, and each one carries a byline. When you finish, the game counts your hops, shows them against par and gives you a share text with the path and a row of bunnies. Earlier days of the current week can be played from the More Puzzles menu; sharing results on three days in a week opens a weekly bonus puzzle, and twelve shares open the full archive.
The game is free, needs no account and works on phones and computers. It suits players of Weaver and other ladders who would like a little more freedom in each move.
How to play Word Bunny
- Open Word Bunny and look at the day's path: the start word, the target words and the par.
- Change the word one letter at a time by dragging a letter from the keyboard into it, or out of it.
- Make sure every step is a real word; a word you have already used does not count again.
- Reach each target word in turn; the next target is shown in bold.
- Finish the path in as few hops as you can and compare your count with par, then share the result.

Tips
- Because letters can be added and removed, a long word is often easier to reach by first shrinking to a short common word.
- Short words with many neighbours, such as three-letter ones, are good stepping stones.
- Use undo instead of a fresh start when one step leads nowhere.
- The tutorial from the help screen shows how adding letters works before you try the daily.
