Bean Counter
Minesweeper in reverse: place the beans the numbers describe.
Every day: One numbered board a day, the same for everyone: Minesweeper in reverse, placing every coffee bean so each number counts the beans touching it, with three mistakes allowed. New puzzle: Once a day; the site does not state the time.

Bean Counter is CoffeeFirst's daily reverse Minesweeper. The numbers are already on the board, and you place coffee beans so each number matches how many beans touch it; three wrong beans end the game.
About Bean Counter
Bean Counter turns Minesweeper inside out. On CoffeeFirst.games there is one numbered board each day, the same for every player; number 48 fell on 2 October 2026, so it is one of the site's newer games. All the numbers are shown from the start, and the hidden things, coffee beans instead of mines, are yours to place.
Each number tells you how many beans touch that cell, including diagonally as in Minesweeper. You reason from the clues which cells must hold a bean and which cannot, and double-click to place one. A bean in the wrong place counts as a mistake, and three mistakes end the game, so it pays to place only what you can prove.
The board is solved when every bean is in place. Earlier puzzles are in the archive and there is a daily leaderboard. It suits Minesweeper players who want the logic without the opening guess.
How to play Bean Counter
- Open Bean Counter and read the numbers on the board.
- Work out which cells must hold beans: each number counts the beans touching it.
- Double-click a cell to place a bean there.
- Place every bean without making three mistakes.
Tips
- Start with 0s: none of their neighbours can hold a bean.
- A number equal to its count of free neighbours means all of them hold beans.
- Only place a bean you can prove; three mistakes end the game.
Questions
How is it different from Minesweeper?
The numbers are all visible from the start, and you place the beans (the mines) rather than avoid them.
How many mistakes can I make?
Three. The third wrong bean ends the game.
Can I play earlier puzzles?
Yes, from the archive on the game's page.
