QueenSweep 8x8 board with eight queens placed, beside the game title

QueenSweep is a free daily logic puzzle that crosses the Queens puzzle with Minesweeper. Numbers on the board tell you how many queens touch each cell, and you use them, plus the rule of one queen per row and column, to flag all eight. Daily mode gives everyone the same board, and Unlimited mode offers extra puzzles.

About QueenSweep

QueenSweep mixes two familiar grid puzzles. As in Queens, an 8x8 board hides eight queens, one in every row and every column, and no two queens may touch diagonally (though they can share a longer diagonal). As in Minesweeper, revealed cells show numbers, each counting how many queens sit in the eight cells around it.

There is a new daily puzzle every day at midnight, and Daily mode gives every player the same board so results can be compared. Difficulty follows the week, starting easier and getting harder toward the weekend.

A day's puzzle is solved by deduction. You mark cells that cannot hold a queen with an X, then flag the cells that must. Flagging a wrong cell counts as a mistake; the cell is marked and you carry on, aiming to finish with as few mistakes as you can.

QueenSweep suits players who already enjoy Queens or Minesweeper and want a short logic puzzle with a different kind of clue. It is free with no ads or subscriptions, and Unlimited mode lets you choose difficulty and board size for practice.

How to play QueenSweep

  1. Open playqueensweep.com and start today's daily puzzle.
  2. Read the numbers: each one counts the queens in the cells around it, diagonals included.
  3. Mark cells that cannot hold a queen with an X.
  4. Flag a cell as a queen when the clues and the one-per-row and one-per-column rule force it.
  5. Flag all eight queens to finish, with as few mistakes as possible.

Tips

  • A 0 clears all eight neighbours at once, so start there.
  • When a row or column has only one cell left that is not crossed out, the queen goes there.
  • Remember that queens may share a long diagonal; only touching corners are banned.
