A solved Queens Master board with one crown in each colour zone and crosses on the other squares

Queens Master is Kwalee's take on the queens placement puzzle. The board is split into coloured zones, and you must put exactly one queen in each so that no two share a row or column or touch. Each morning brings a hand-crafted Daily Challenge with streaks and global leaderboards.

About Queens Master: Sudoku Puzzle

Queens Master is a phone and tablet version of the colour-region queens puzzle, the same idea as LinkedIn's Queens or Star Battle with one star. Each board is a square grid divided into coloured zones, and the solution has one queen in every zone, row and column, with no two queens touching, even diagonally.

It is published by Kwalee and has been on the App Store since 2025.

The daily part is a hand-crafted Daily Challenge that appears every morning. Solving it without mistakes keeps your streak alive, and your result counts on global leaderboards. Outside the daily there are thousands of numbered levels that grow from small, gentle boards to large, hard ones.

You have three lives per puzzle, so a wrong queen costs a heart and guessing is punished. Hints explain the next deduction, such as which squares can be crossed out because a zone already holds a queen. It suits fans of LinkedIn Queens who want a daily board plus plenty of extra practice.

How to play Queens Master: Sudoku Puzzle

  1. Open Queens Master and start the Daily Challenge.
  2. Tap a square once to mark it with an X where a queen cannot go.
  3. Double-tap a square to place a queen.
  4. Give every colour zone, row and column exactly one queen, with no two queens touching.
  5. Fill the board before you lose all three lives to keep your streak.

Tips

  • Start with the smallest zones: a zone of one row or column fixes where other queens cannot go.
  • Once you place a queen, cross out its row, column, zone and the eight squares around it.
  • If two zones lie entirely within the same two rows, those rows are taken for every other zone.
