About Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day (Cards Realm)

Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day is one of the challenges on yugioh.cardsrealm.com, a Yu-Gi-Oh deck and card database. Each day, numbered as Challenge of the day, it hides one monster card, the same for everyone, and a new one starts at midnight UTC with a countdown on the page.

You type a card name or open See list to pick from every possible answer. Each guess adds a row with the card's picture and five columns: summon type (such as Xyz, Synchro or Link), monster type (such as Sea Serpent or Dragon), attribute, level and the year the card first came out. A column turns green with an equals sign when it matches the answer exactly, amber when it is close, meaning a level one away or a year within two, and grey when it is far off. Level and year also get an arrow pointing from your guess towards the answer.

Only monsters can be the answer, since spells and traps have no level, attribute or monster type. Link monsters have no level, so two Link monsters match on that column instead of being compared as level zero. The pool is the 365 monsters most played in decks on Cards Realm, one per day for a year, and each guess is checked on the server, so the answer is not in the page.

You get eight guesses. Under the board the page shows yesterday's answer and a Copy result button for sharing. Below that are reactions and a comment thread for signed-in users. The site shows ads, with a paid option to remove them.

How to play Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day (Cards Realm)

1. Open the Yu-Gi-Oh card of the day page on Cards Realm.
2. Type a monster's name or press See list, pick a card, then press Guess.
3. Read the row: green is an exact match, amber is close and grey is different; arrows on level and year point towards the answer.
4. Use the columns to narrow the field and name the monster within eight guesses, then copy your result.

Tips

• Start with a monster whose summon type you doubt: that column splits the pool into Xyz, Synchro, Link, Fusion and main deck cards at once.
• An amber year means within two years, so the answer comes from almost the same era as your guess.
• Only the 365 most played monsters on the site can be the answer, so popular deck staples are a better first guess than obscure cards.
• Check See list when a name will not come to you: it holds every card that can be the answer.
