YGOrdle is a free daily Yu-Gi-Oh card guessing game. You have ten tries to find today's card, and each guess shows how its attribute, Level, monster type, card types, ATK, DEF and release year compare with the answer.

About YGOrdle

YGOrdle is a Wordle-style daily game for Yu-Gi-Oh players, hosted on yugioh.app. Its Daily Challenge picks one card each day on the site's server, so everyone who plays that day is chasing the same card, and a new one arrives at 22:00 UTC.

You type a card name, with an optional fuzzy search for when you only half remember it, and the guess is laid out against the hidden card. Attribute and monster type light up when they match. Level, ATK, DEF and release year are compared as numbers, so you can tell whether the answer is higher or lower. Card types such as Effect, Synchro, Tuner or Union are checked one by one, and orange means your guess shares the answer's types but the answer has more. Level, Rank and Link Rating all count as Level, and a question mark or a missing DEF counts as 0.

You get ten tries. When the round ends you can copy a share grid of green and black squares, one row per guess, without giving the card away. Two unlimited modes sit beside the daily one: Endless Challenge, which hands out new hidden monsters as long as you want to play, and Pain, which does the same with Spell and Trap cards.

It suits players who know the card pool by its numbers: a regular who can tell a Level 4 WIND Beast from a Level 4 EARTH one will get there in a few guesses. It runs in the browser with no account.

How to play YGOrdle

  1. Open ygordle.yugioh.app; it starts on the Daily Challenge.
  2. Type a Yu-Gi-Oh card name in the Card Name box and pick it; tick fuzzy search if you are unsure of the spelling.
  3. Read the row your guess adds: attribute and monster type show a match or a miss, and Level, ATK, DEF and year show whether the answer is higher or lower.
  4. Check the card types: a match on all of them is green, orange means the answer has extra types such as Synchro or Tuner.
  5. Use the clues to narrow the field and find the card within ten tries.
  6. Share your result grid and come back after 22:00 UTC for the next card.

Tips

  • Open with a mid-Level monster from the middle of the card's history, so the Level and year comparisons split the pool in half.
  • Remember that Link Rating and Rank are read as Level, so an Xyz or Link card can still answer a Level clue.
  • Treat ATK and DEF of 0 with care: a question mark and a Link monster's missing DEF both count as 0.
  • Once attribute and type are fixed, the release year usually leaves only a handful of candidates.
