xdle
Rate itWordle if you really like maths: find the day's three-digit number from number-theory clues.
Every day: One numbered daily xdle a day for everyone (#1596 on 5 October 2026): a hidden three-digit number to find in six guesses, each answered with number-theory clues relating your guess to the answer. New puzzle: Once a day (daily puzzles count from 24 January 2022).

xdle, written with an italic x, is a daily number puzzle on itch.io that its maker describes as Wordle if you really like math. You have six guesses to find a hidden three-digit number, and each guess comes back with clues about primes, powers and divisors linking it to the answer.
About xdle
xdle swaps Wordle's letters for digits. The board has six rows of three boxes and a keypad of 0 to 9. You enter a three-digit number and press Enter, and a line of clues appears beside it. The clues are drawn from number theory: whether a number is prime, whether it is a square, a cube or another power, what its largest prime divisor is, and what the largest divisor shared by your guess and the hidden number is. You work from those relations to pin down the answer.
There are two modes. Daily xdle is numbered, a new one each day, the same for everyone; the numbering started on 24 January 2022, and number 1596 fell on 5 October 2026. Free xdle lets you play as much as you want with random puzzles. Stats track games played, win rate and streaks for each mode, and results can be copied for sharing, including a Discord format.
The game was made in 2022 by Guilherme S. Töws, who publishes as zaratustra on itch.io, inspired by Josh Wardle's Wordle. It is free, plays in the browser, and offers colour-blind and dark themes and a bigger keyboard.

Tips
- Start with a number with many small factors, such as 360, so the shared-divisor clue says a lot.
- Note when a clue says the answer and your guess share no divisor: that rules out whole families of numbers.
- Keep a list of squares and cubes under 1000 handy.
- Try free xdle to learn how the clues are phrased before the daily.
