About Wordle (EUS)

Wordle (EUS) was one of the first Wordle versions in another language, launched in January 2022 at wordle.talaios.coop and now at wordle.jokoak.eus. Its tagline is "Egunero hitz bat", one word every day, and its description reads, in Basque: guess the hidden word in six tries, one word a day.

You type five-letter Basque words on a keyboard that includes ñ. After each guess the letters change colour to show how close you are: one colour for a letter in the right position, another for a letter that is in the word but in the wrong position, and grey for a letter that is not there. Words that are not in the game's dictionary are rejected with a message, and clicking a letter shows its state.

Everyone playing on the same day gets the same word. The help card also points to WORLDLEH, a newer game built on the towns of the Basque Country.

It suits Basque speakers and learners who want their daily word game in euskara.

How to play Wordle (EUS)

1. Open wordle.jokoak.eus.
2. Type a five-letter Basque word and press Enter.
3. Read the tiles: green for the right letter in the right place, yellow for a letter that is in the word elsewhere, grey for a letter not in the word.
4. Find the word within six tries and come back the next day for a new one.
