About Bardl (Բառդլ)

Bardl calls itself a daily word game ("օրական բառախաղ"). Its one-line description, in Armenian, says: guess the word in six tries, a new word every day. It closely follows the look of the original Wordle, with a help button, statistics and settings around a six-row board, and has been running since January 2022.

You type five-letter Armenian words on an on-screen keyboard with the letters of the Armenian alphabet. After each guess the tiles turn green for a letter in the right place, yellow for a letter that is in the word in another place, and grey for a letter that is not in the word. Hard mode makes you reuse every letter you have found.

The word is chosen by date, counting days from 24 January 2022, so all players get the same word and it changes at midnight. Your streak and the spread of your results are kept in the browser. The page shows Google ads.

It suits Armenian speakers and learners who want a short daily puzzle in Armenian script.

How to play Bardl (Բառդլ)

1. Open Bardl at gagikm.github.io/bardl.
2. Type a five-letter Armenian word and press Enter.
3. Read the tiles: green for the right letter in the right place, yellow for a letter elsewhere in the word, grey for a letter not in it.
4. Find the word within six tries and come back the next day.

Tips

• Armenian has 38 or 39 letters, so a first guess with several common vowels such as Ա, Ե and Ո tells you a lot.
• Turn on hard mode in settings if you want each guess to use what you have found.
• Use your second guess on fresh letters.
