About Besedle

Besedle, from the Slovene word beseda (word), is a Slovene clone of Wordle. Its description reads, in Slovene: find the word in six tries, a new one every day ("Vsak dan nova").

You type five-letter Slovene words, with the letters č, š and ž on the keyboard. After each guess the tiles show which letters are in the right place, which are in the word elsewhere, and which are not in it. A harder mode, which can only be switched on at the start of a game, makes you use every clue you have found; there is also a high-contrast colour option.

The word is chosen by date, counting from January 2022, so everyone gets the same one, and it changes at midnight. Each daily is numbered (št. 1726 on 3 October 2026), shown above the board. After a game you see the distribution of your results and a countdown to the next puzzle ("Naslednja uganka"). The credits name the author of the Slovene clone and the open-source Wordle copy it was built on.

It suits Slovene speakers and learners.

How to play Besedle

1. Open besedle.mygamesonline.org.
2. Type a five-letter Slovene word and press Enter.
3. Read the tiles: green for the right letter in the right place, yellow for a letter that is in the word elsewhere, grey for a letter not in the word.
4. Find the word within six tries and come back the next day for a new one.

Tips

• Č, Š and Ž are separate letters in Slovene; try them when c, s or z turn grey.
• Slovene words often end in -a, -o or -i; test endings early.
• Switch on the harder mode before your first guess if you want it; it cannot be turned on mid-game.
