Wordle Kurdî is a daily Wordle in Kurdish, written in the Latin Kurmanji alphabet. Each day everyone gets the same hidden five-letter word and six tries to find it.

About Wordle Kurdî

Wordle Kurdî calls itself "Lîstika Peyvan a Rojane", the daily word game. Its description, in Kurmanji Kurdish, reads: find the hidden word in six guesses, a new puzzle every day. It was made by Fatih Kadir Akın, who also made a Ladino version with the same code, and it moved from f.github.io to blog.fka.dev.

You type five-letter Kurdish words using the Latin Kurmanji alphabet, including letters such as ç, ê, î, ş and û. After each guess the tiles turn green, yellow or grey to show letters in the right place, in the word elsewhere, or not in the word. A hard mode (if you find a letter, you must use it in later guesses) and high-contrast colours are in the settings.

The word is picked by date, so everyone gets the same one and it changes at midnight. The page credits the original Wordle by Josh Wardle.

It suits speakers and learners of Kurmanji Kurdish.

How to play Wordle Kurdî

  1. Open blog.fka.dev/wordle-kurdi.
  2. Type a five-letter Kurdish word and press Enter.
  3. Read the tiles: green for the right letter in the right place, yellow for a letter that is in the word elsewhere, grey for a letter not in the word.
  4. Find the word within six tries and come back the next day for a new one.

Tips

  • Ç, Ê, Î, Ş and Û are separate letters from c, e, i, s and u; try them when the plain letter fails.
  • The keyboard has its own keys for ê, î, ç and ş; use them rather than the plain letters when the word needs them.
  • Turn on hard mode in the settings for a stricter game.
