WikiSpeedrun Daily #145 in play: start Coeliac disease, destination Anya Taylor-Joy, step counter and timer at the top, the Coeliac disease article below

WikiSpeedrun's Daily Challenge gives every player the same pair of Wikipedia articles each day. You start on one and click only the links inside the articles until you reach the other, as fast and in as few steps as you can, then see how your run compares on the day's leaderboard.

About WikiSpeedrun Daily Challenge

WikiSpeedrun is a browser game built on the old Wikipedia race: get from one article to another using nothing but the links in the text. Besides solo modes and live multiplayer rooms, it has a numbered Daily Challenge. On 3 October 2026 it was daily number 145, from Coeliac disease to Anya Taylor-Joy, with a par of four steps.

The game shows the start and destination at the top of the screen with your step count and a running timer, and loads each article below in a clean Wikipedia layout. You can click the destination's name to preview its article before you set off, which helps you decide what kind of page will lead there. A Surrender button ends the run if you get lost.

Only one attempt a day counts for the leaderboard, so the first run is the one that matters. The site keeps a streak on your device and a leaderboard per date, so you can compare steps and time with everyone who played the same pair. It is free, has no ads and needs no sign-up, and it can also run on Simplified Chinese Wikipedia. It was made by Henry Bao, who publishes the source on GitHub.

Compared with Hyperlinked, which caps you at ten clicks, or The Wiki Game Daily, WikiSpeedrun puts the clock up front: steps and time both show while you play, and the par tells you how short the route can be.

How to play WikiSpeedrun Daily Challenge

  1. Open the Daily Challenge; the start and destination articles appear at the top.
  2. Click the destination's name if you want to preview its article first.
  3. Click a link inside the current article to move to the next page; each click is one step.
  4. Keep following links until you land on the destination article.
  5. Check your steps and time against the par and the day's leaderboard, then share your result.

Tips

  • Your first attempt is the one that counts, so read the destination's preview before you start.
  • Aim for broad hub pages, such as a country, a city or a field of study, which link to many others.
  • For a person as the destination, head for their country, profession or a famous work they are linked to.
  • Use the article's contents box to jump to a section where a useful link is likely.
