Wikinections
Four daily puzzles built from the links between Wikipedia articles.
Every day: A fresh set of four puzzles every day, the same for everyone, all built from Wikipedia's article links: The Path, The Hunt, The Chain and The Link. New puzzle: Once a day.

Wikinections is a set of four free daily puzzles made from the way Wikipedia articles link to each other. Find the shortest route between two articles, close in on a hidden one, put a shuffled chain back in order, and name the article every clue points to.
About Wikinections
Wikinections asks one question in four ways: how does everything connect? Each day brings a new set of four puzzles, the same for every player, built from the links between real Wikipedia articles.
The Path gives you two articles and asks you to get from one to the other in as few links as possible. The Hunt hides an article and lets you use its connections to close in on it. The Chain shuffles a sequence of linked articles and asks you to put them back in their connected order. The Link shows several clues and asks for the one article that all of them link to.
The article content comes from Wikipedia under its CC BY-SA licence; the game is independent of the Wikimedia Foundation. It is free in the browser.
It suits Wikipedia rabbit-hole explorers and trivia players who like puzzles about how ideas join up rather than single facts.
How to play Wikinections
- Open the day's set and pick one of the four puzzles.
- The Path: click from the start article to the target in as few links as you can.
- The Hunt: use the links around a hidden article to work out what it is.
- The Chain: drag the shuffled articles into their connected order.
- The Link: name the one article that every clue links to.
Tips
- In The Path, head for broad hub articles such as countries or centuries; they link to almost everything.
- In The Link, think of what the clues have in common, not what each one is.
- Do The Chain last; the other three often warm up the right topics.
