VocabPop puzzle 001 showing the word PETRICHOR and four possible meanings

VocabPop shows a weird and wonderful English word each day with four possible definitions, only one of them real. Pick the right meaning, ideally first time; you get three chances. A streak and stats track how often you know the word.

About VocabPop

VocabPop is a one-minute daily vocabulary game. Each numbered puzzle presents a single unusual English word, such as petrichor, in large letters, with a button to hear it pronounced.

Below the word are four definitions. One is the real meaning; the others are invented, and one is often a joke. You pick an answer by tapping it or pressing 1 to 4. You have three chances to find the correct definition, and the result screen shows how many tries you needed.

The game started in March 2026 and has run daily since, with a countdown to the next word. Your streak shows at the top, and the stats screen records games played, win rate and your guess distribution. Results can be shared without giving the answer away.

It suits word lovers who want a tiny daily lesson rather than a long puzzle.

How to play VocabPop

  1. Open VocabPop and read today's word, or tap the speaker to hear it.
  2. Read the four possible meanings.
  3. Tap the one you think is real, or press 1 to 4.
  4. If you are wrong, try again; you have three chances.
  5. Share your result and come back for the next word.

Tips

  • Look for a familiar root, prefix or suffix inside the word.
  • Rule out the joke option first; it is rarely the answer.
  • Be wary of definitions that echo the spelling too closely; the fake ones often play on how the word looks.
