FacetWord gives you five puzzles a day built on words with several meanings. Each starts with a single meaning; a wrong guess reveals another, up to three. The fifth puzzle, The Twist, shows four clues at once, one of them an impostor, against the clock.

About FacetWord

FacetWord is a daily word game about the many sides of a word. Each day's set is numbered and the same for every player, and the puzzles get harder as you go.

In the first four puzzles you see one meaning of a hidden word and get one guess. If you miss, a second meaning appears that comes at the word from another angle, and then a third, final one. Guess it from the first meaning for the best result.

The fifth puzzle is The Twist. Four clues appear together: three point to the same word and one is an impostor. Before you see it you choose a mode, One Shot (25 seconds and a single guess, which can earn a Flawless Facet) or Play It Safe (45 seconds and three guesses). Its difficulty changes from day to day. Solved words polish your Facet, a gem that evolves from rough stone as you keep playing.

It is free, with no account needed. It suits crossword solvers and anyone who enjoys words with double meanings.

Tips

  • Think of short, common words: they tend to have the most meanings.
  • When a second meaning appears, look for the word that fits both.
