Every day: One numbered puzzle, called a signal, a day for everyone: two linked 5 by 5 mazes where each arrow press moves your piece one way and your echo the same way turned a quarter turn, clockwise or counterclockwise as the day says. Twistpair signal 280: two 5 by 5 mazes, a green piece and an orange echo each with a star signal and a ringed exit, a move counter and arrow buttons

Twistpair is a daily move puzzle played on two small mazes side by side. Every arrow press moves your piece on the left and its echo on the right, but the echo's move is rotated a quarter turn, so you have to plan routes that work in both mazes at once. The aim is to collect both signals and finish on both exits in the fewest moves.

About Twistpair

Twistpair sets one puzzle a day, the same for every player, numbered as a signal (signal 280 fell on 7 October 2026). It is made of two 5 by 5 boards. On the left is you, on the right your echo, and each board has walls, a star-shaped signal to pick up and a ringed exit.

One arrow drives both pieces. Your piece goes the way you pressed; the echo goes the way you pressed turned a quarter turn, clockwise on some days and counterclockwise on others, which the header shows. So pressing right might send the echo up. Walls stop a piece, and a blocked piece stays put while the other moves, which is how you bring the two into line.

A puzzle is solved when both signals are collected and both pieces stand on their exits. You have up to 64 moves, every press counts even when blocked, and undo and reset are free. At the end the game shows your move count and you can share a challenge for a friend to beat.

There is a short warm-up for learning the controls, a hint button called A little nudge, an archive of earlier days, and a scores tab. Playing needs no account or wallet. Players who want to can pay a small ETH fee to have their route checked and recorded on the Base network; this is optional and adds nothing to the game itself.

How to play Twistpair

  1. Open Twistpair; the Daily tab shows today's signal and whether the echo turns clockwise or counterclockwise.
  2. Press an arrow key, WASD or the on-screen arrows: your piece moves that way and the echo moves the same way turned a quarter turn.
  3. Use walls to hold one piece still while the other moves, so you can line both up.
  4. Collect the star signal on each board and finish with both pieces on their ringed exits, then compare your move count or share a challenge.

Tips

  • Before moving, translate each arrow for the echo: with a counterclockwise turn, right sends it up, up sends it left, left sends it down and down sends it right.
  • A wall next to one piece is a tool: pressing into it moves only the other piece, though the press still counts as a move.
  • Plan the order of the two signals first, then work out how to reach the exits; collecting is often the harder part.
  • Use undo freely to test a line, since only your final route is counted.
