Snug on Mind Loft for October 3, 2026: an empty 6x6 board with one square missing from the bottom row, and seven green polyomino pieces on the pad below with Rotate, Flip, Undo, Clear and Hint buttons

Snug is a free daily shape-fitting puzzle from Mind Loft. Each day gives a 6x6 board with a few squares missing and a handful of polyomino pieces whose squares add up to the board exactly. Turn, flip and place them until the board is covered; there is only one way they all fit.

About Snug (Mind Loft)

Snug is a tiling puzzle on Mind Loft, a free site of daily browser games. The board is a 6x6 grid with a few squares cut out, and below it sits a pad of pieces made of joined squares. On the day we looked there were 7 pieces covering 35 squares. The pieces add up to the board exactly, and the job is to fit them all in with nothing left over and nothing overlapping.

Pieces can be rotated and flipped. You tap a piece on the pad to pick it up, use Rotate and Flip, then tap the board where one of its squares should sit; tapping a placed piece lifts it back. The pieces on the pad are shown turned some arbitrary way, so the shape of the hole is the real clue. Undo, Clear and a hint are available.

Every board has exactly one tiling, so the puzzle finishes itself as soon as the last piece lands. A tap that fits nowhere costs nothing and nothing else counts against you, so every solve scores 10 and the leaderboard is a race on the clock.

A new board goes up at midnight US Eastern Time, and the Sunday Edition is a 7x7 board with more pieces. Mind Loft also has a gentler children's version called Fit It, with pieces already turned the right way, and suggests Plot and Sixes for players who like fitting things together.

How to play Snug (Mind Loft)

  1. Open mindloftdaily.com/snug and press Start to see the board and the pieces.
  2. Tap a piece on the pad to pick it up.
  3. Use Rotate and Flip to turn it, then tap the board where one of its squares should go.
  4. Tap a placed piece to lift it back if it is in the wrong place.
  5. Cover every square of the board; the puzzle ends as soon as the last piece fits.

Tips

  • Start with the awkward corners and the notches next to missing squares; few pieces fit there.
  • Place the largest or oddest piece early, while there is still room to turn it.
  • A straight bar piece usually belongs along an edge.
  • Since wrong taps cost nothing, try a piece in a likely hole rather than turning it in your head.
