Slydle
Rate itSlide letter tiles on a 15-puzzle board until the hidden words line up.
Every day: A fresh sliding-tile word board every day in Classic, XL and Slydle9 modes, with a set number of hidden words to find (20 on the board shown on Oct 5, 2026) and your slides counted. New puzzle: Once a day (a fresh puzzle every day, per the site).

Slydle combines the sliding 15-puzzle with a word hunt. Letter tiles sit on a small grid with one empty square; you slide tiles into the gap to line letters up into words and find all of the day's hidden words in as few slides as you can. Classic, XL and Slydle9 modes give boards of different sizes.
About Slydle
Slydle takes the old sliding-tile puzzle, where tiles move one at a time into the empty square, and fills the tiles with letters. Instead of putting numbers in order, you slide letters around until they form words in a row or column. A tutorial shows the idea on a small board: slide the D up beside W, O and R and the row reads WORD.
Each day's puzzle has a target number of words to find, shown at the top with your count of slides and a progress bar. Tapping the counter lists the words you have found and how many are left. Because every move shifts the board, a word you made a moment ago can be broken by the next slide, so finding them all is a matter of planning your path through the letters.
The site offers several daily modes, Classic, XL and Slydle9, with larger or smaller boards. It is free, runs in the browser on phone or desktop and needs no login, and you can share your progress.
How to play Slydle
- Open slydle.app and pick a mode; skip or follow the short tutorial.
- Tap a tile next to the empty square to slide it into the gap.
- Line letters up so that a row or column spells a word; found words are counted.
- Tap the counter at the top to see which words you have found and how many remain.
- Find all the day's words in as few slides as you can, then share your progress.

Tips
- Look for short words first: two or three slides often make one.
- Keep the empty square near the letters you are working on to save moves.
- Common endings like S, ED and ER are worth keeping on the edge of a row.
- Check the word list before sliding on: a word you broke may already be counted.
